Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NLT)

"A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. THREE are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken."

Dylan, The Super Hero!

Here's to Brother Dylan!
Tonight as we were out in the yard playing, I heard a cheerful familar sound.........carousel music. What? Where's is it coming from? As I looked down the street, I saw this big white truck headed our way with children's music blaring loudly. That's right.....it was an old fashion ice cream truck!! The kiddos and I were bursting with excitement when we realized what it was and that it was headed our way. The ice cream truck is such a fond childhood memory for me! The kiddos asked, "Mommy, can we get some ice cream.......PLEEEAAASE?" My initial response was "Oh no, I don't believe I have any money" (since I truly didn't have any cash on me). But as quick as a flash, as the truck pulled right in front of our driveway, Dylan came running out of the house waving a $20 bill with a HUGE smile on his face beaming "I'm buying, girls!" (he had run up to his room and pulled cash out of his piggy bank). It was truly a classic and I laughed hysterically as the girls were jumping up and down screaming "YEAH DYLAN!!!!!!". So they each picked out their frozen treat of choice and Dylan received oodles of thanks and kisses.

What a little dude! We are always telling him how much we love his caring heart, his amazing generosity and his gift of thoughtfulness. He is "so full of love" and the chance to be a Super Hero to his sisters is priceless. When he told his dad tonight at bedtime what he had done, he could hardly contain himself he was so joyful and proud. It's moments like these that are glimpses of Heaven on earth.

Tooth Fairy Not Fooled This Time!

About a month ago, Dylan was feeling a little left out; his sisters had each lost two teeth and received visits from the Tooth Fairy. He wanted her to visit him too and thought he could trick the Tooth Fairy by placing a small piece of a pork rib bone from dinner under his pillow. NOT!! She left him a note under his pillow saying she was almost fooled but checked inside his mouth while he was sleeping and that he was a "jokester".

Not this time......Dylan lost his first real tooth last night - WOOO HOOO!! He was proud as a peacock and couldn't wait to show everybody. Imagine his delight when he woke up this morning to cold hard cash laying under his pillow. The first question he asked was "how much is the government going to take?" HA! Children are just way too smart :)

5-1/2 Year Stats

June 1 was an overlooked milestone for LTD.......their 5-1/2 yr birthday!!! Dave and I typically measure and document their height and weight on their birthdays and "half birthdays" and we sort of dropped the ball this year. What in the world; how dare we!!! LTD were sure to remind us of our oversight. And so, here are their 5-1/2 yr stats a few weeks late along with a favorite quote from each of them in the last week:

Lindsey Height: 42-7/8"h
Weight: 38 lbs

Quote of the Week: "Taylooooor! PLEEEAAASE stop your yappin'! I need my sleep so I can grow!" (at bedtime as the "yapper" continues to chatter while L tries to get to sleep)

Taylor Height: 42"h
Weight: 34-1/2 lbs

Quote of the Week: "Mom, my children have VBS this week and I'm gonna need you to do crafts. I'm gonna sing and play games and read Bible stories to my honeys." (as 50+ stuffed animals and dolls are set up ready to go; she wants to duplicate her fun experience at Vacation Bible School last week at our church)

Dylan
Height: 43-1/2"h
Weight: 38 lbs

Quote of the Week: "Beat 'em off the line, Dad! (A few seconds later) AWESOME, you're in first!" (as the stoplight turns green, Dave hits the gas and pulls ahead of the car next to us - in our hot rod minivan)

Happy Father's Day!

Hi everybody from Lindsey, Taylor & Dylan. Mom is letting us take over the computer today because it's a really special day......Father's Day!! Our daddy is the BEST dad on earth and we love him "from the lava under the earth all the way to Heaven and then all the way back to the lava.....a hundred times!"

We treated Dad extra special today to our own artwork & gifts, breakfast in bed, brunch after church, handpicked fresh flowers, and a trip out to Cleary Lake for some bike riding, a picnic and swimming at the beach. We had a blast and are SO ready to hit the sack. We think Dad had ALMOST as much fun as we did cuz he was smiling alot. Did we tell you he's the BEST???

Oh and we almost forgot.....mom treated dad and all of us to a night out at the racetrack on Friday night. Talk about SUPER COOL!!! Those Nascar races are a blast and dad was smiling from ear to ear the whole time. We all had a really fun time and Dad says we plan to go back a few times this summer. Wooo Hooo!!!

We also got a chance to call all 3 of our Papas in North Dakota today to let them know how much we love them too. They make us laugh ALOT ALOT and we can't wait to see them all again in a week or so.

Hey Daddy, thanks for how much you smile and laugh at us, how much you like to play with us and tease us, for helping us build HUGE sand castle villages with moats and bridges, for bedtime stories, for all the hugs and kisses you give us every day and for being the best Dad anybody could ask for. Mom thinks you are pretty neat too. We love you!!!

More VBS Photos

Here are just a few more photos worth sharing from VBS Family Night. Too bad Dylan's buddy, Kendrick, was out sick for the performance. We sure did miss him!

VBS Memories

This week is one of our family's favorite times of the summer......VBS (Vacation Bible School). The theme this year is "SonQuest Rainforest" and LTD have enjoyed it thoroughly along with their triplet friends, AEK, and some of their preschool friends. Tonight was family night and we had a chance to see our children shine and share their love of God. It just makes your heart melt watching over 400 children sing songs of praise and have a great time doing so. We only had one drawback tonight.......Lindsey forgot her shoes for the big performance. We do believe she was the only child on stage singing with no shoes but it didn't matter......she was having fun up there, hillbilly or not :) They were in high heaven singing with their favorite friends and their cousin Anna at their side. Here are a few photos from tonight.

80's Reunion

Pretty pathetic........Last weekend Dave and I went home to Bismarck for an all-school 80's reunion and managed to take a whopping FOUR photos!!! WHAT??? That's right, 4 total photos!!! This is evidence that we are much more interested in yapping and partying than photo ops. Regardless, we both had a blast reconnecting with dear friends from our past AND present. We cherish our Nodak friends and the memories we have shared together over the years and we look forward to making MANY, MANY more. God bless everybody we were privileged to talk to, those we missed out on chatting with and those who were unable to make it home. Look out Bismarck, we will be back in early July for round 2. Maybe this time we can manage to actually click the little silver button on top of our camera. Ya think?

Sweet Friendship

Last week Friday we got to share the day at the MN Zoo with some of our favorite triplet friends. I am stealing some photos that were taken by my dear friend, Nik, because I thought they were SO precious and truly capture the love of our children for each other. Next up: VBS together and LTD can hardly wait to share it with AEK!!

Spin Outs & High 5's

Here is a quick video of a typical morning at Camp Clark from earlier this Spring. Dave had to eventually put duct tape on Dylan's Powerwheels Jeep to get some traction from all the "power". Boys will be boys!

Late Spring Blossoms

At Camp Clark, we LOVE colorful flowers and our rose bushes and peonies are in full bloom and are simply breathtaking. Too bad the peonies don't last a few months versus a few weeks. So I just had to capture their beauty on a few pics (see below).

Rose bushes smell so fragrant
Peonies bursting with color in flower garden

Last year we participated in a CSA (community supported agriculture) and received more veggies than we even knew existed and more than we could possibly consume for a pretty price. So this year we decided to plant our own "organic" garden. This past weekend, our junior gardeners helped "The Thumb" (Dave's nickname for me since I am not exactly Martha Stuart) get all our veggies and fruits planted in our garden in the backyard. With a little TLC and a little luck from above, we are in for a BIG harvest come mid-summer (cucumbers, tomatoes, beans, peas, brocolli, brussel sprouts, zuchini, carrots, watermelon, cantaloupe and peppers). Let's hope the varmints (moles) don't have a smorgasbord this year like 2 years ago; I will be on watch with my beebee gun close at my side!!!
