Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NLT)

"A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. THREE are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken."

Dylan and Tootsie Shine!

Last week was a busy week at Camp Clark and we are SO VERY proud of Dylan and Tootsie for their big accomplishments.

Dylan crossed the bridge in the Cub Scouts Bridging Ceremony and received his Wolf badge and pin and is now officially a Bear. Dave and Dylan have really enjoyed Cub Scouts and partaking in fun activities such as the Pine Derby Races, Polar Cubs outing, working at the PTC Carnival and summer camp. In fact, they are going to camp again in June and are looking forward to it.

That same night, our furball of a puppy graduated from Puppy Kindergarten class. Tootsie has learned to master the obstacle course, sit, lay down, stay, and started the process of heeling which we will expand on in Obedience 101 class after she turns 6 mos old. We had a lots of puppies in our class and I am proud to announce she placed 3rd in the "Musical Chairs Sitting Contest"! That is a game where music plays and once it stops, the owners give a command for the pup to sit and can take an available seat after the dog sits. Tootsie sat right away each time but when it came down to the last 3 dogs, she and another pup found interest in each other and that pup sat first and the owner beat me to the chair as we both literally RAN for it. It was a riot! Tootsie received a certificate and a doggy biscuit for her hard work over 7 weeks and I would like to thank Dylan for being my right hand assistant during it all. Way to go!

Vacation Memories - Playa del Carmen, Mexico

There is one word which summarizes our vacation to Playa del Carmen, Mexico:  AWESOME!!! We had a perfect condo with perfect grounds and perfect pool right on the perfect stretch of beach with perfect weather. Did I mention it was perfect? Seriously, we had an absolute blast. We started our trip sharing time with our neighbors from Savage, the Moore family, who just happened to stay a few hundred yards down the beach from us in a private home. It was a fun couple days before they had to leave and the kiddos thoroughly enjoyed taking on the waves with the boogie boards and playing in the sand. Of course, the adults had to toast with a few margaritas and cervezas :)

Our experiences included loads of sunshine (SPF 70 was needed), swimming at the pool with new-found friends, swimming in the ocean, surfing with boogie boards, shopping on 5th Avenue and the local markets and taking in a few shows, dining at fun restaurants (our favorite was right on the beach in the sand), bungee jumping, snorkeling at Akumel with sea turtles, painting pottery poolside, getting hair braided poolside (girls), and taking in a day at Xel Ha which was an AMAZING highlight! Our day at Xel Ha was filled with lots of snorkeling in coral reefs with colorful fish (Dave saw an eel), swimming and sliding into a lagoon pool, zip lining, relaxing in hammocks, holding tropical birds, watching the dolphins play and swim and sipping on refreshing tropical drinks.

Now it's back to reality....6 inches of snow in April! Huh??? Anyway, we look forward to next year and are definitely planning for a return visit to Mexico. Check out our photos on the Shutterfly link on this blog page (in the right column). Here are just a few:
