Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NLT)

"A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. THREE are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken."

Summer Recap!!!

Epic fail on my part!!! Here it is almost August and I have failed to post any updates on our family blog since May. How could that be? Could it have anything to do with kiddos being out of school and we have been sharing time together non-stop? Hmmm? Anyway, it's time to update our family and friends through a few photos on what we have been up to since May :)

10 Year Wedding Anniversary
Let's start first with a milestone event. On May 21, Dave and I celebrated our 10 yr anniversary. Time has really flown by but we are both grateful for each other and our beautiful children God blessed us with. God is SO good and we have complete faith that the Best is yet to come!

Golf Camp
The kids finished 3rd grade in early June and had one week to sleep in before they dove into Hook a Kid on Golf Camp at Cleary Lake Golf Course in Prior Lake. It was a week long, 3 hrs each day and they all loved it! Their golf instructor was really good with kids and they learned a lot from him. They each got their own set of clubs too which was included with the camp fee and they are nice! We have been out to the driving range and plan to get out to golf a Par 3 several times this summer.

Dakota Vacation
Next up, we took a trip to North Dakota for the 4th of July and then traveled onto the Black Hills of South Dakota for a week. We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating Grandma Good's 73rd birthday in Bismarck and sharing time with family and old time friends. We rented a cambing cabin at the Palmer Gulch resort in the Black Hills. What an outstanding vacation! The resort was perfect and in the heart of the hills. The resort had everything including horseback riding, pools, children's activities every day, panning for gold, alpine water slide, chuckwagon dinners complete with wagon ride pulled by horses, ATV rentals, bike rentals, kayaks and fishing, movies every night, pancake tent, ice cream house, gift shop, wine and coffee house with FREE tastings :), and a restaurant and bar that just happened to serve the BEST margaritas in SD! We also checked out the local sites and can't wait to go back again next year. Below are just a few photos but feel free to check out our Shutterfly Link on this blog page to see many more.

Baseball
When we returned from South Dakota, it was back to baseball and closing out the season with a 3-day tournament. Our team had a great season and the boys made some great progress. They lost their first game in OT which Dave (assistant coach) said we should have won but the ump made a bad call at home plate which cost us the game :(   Oh well, we came back the next day and Dylan had two double plays in two different games. I about fell off my chair with excitement. His smile was beaming from ear to ear when his team awarded him the game ball in game 2 for his double play which ended the game on a high. Unfortunately, we lost in the semi-finals and the season is now over. Dylan is looking forward to playing fall baseball though which we all look forward to.

Tina Turned 50!
On July 18, it was my official 50th birthday and we celebrated with friends by attending an outdoor concert in Prior Lake. It was a GREAT night and we had a lot of fun. Dave is also hosting a birthday party on August 1, at our home with family and friends. Can't wait to share time with everybody! We will most likely be posting photos so stay tuned.

Dexter's Wedding
My nephew and Godchild, Dexter Kemmet, was married on Friday, July 25, in Eurka Springs, AR. He married one of the most beautiful young ladies on this planet, Samantha Joy, whom he met in 2011 while performing together in the Young Americans. My mother and I traveled to Arkansas to join my brother, Bruce, and his kids in celebrating this special event. Bruce hosted a pre-wedding party the day before and rented 4 large pontoons on Beaver Lake in the Ozarks. The lake was breathtaking and it was a gorgeous, sunny day. After an afternoon on the lake, Dexter's mother, Amy, and her husband hosted a groom's dinner BBQ at a pavilion on the lake which was a perfect end to a lovely day. The wedding was intimate and beautiful and the reception afterward was super fun. I am so happy for Dexter and Sam and wish them all the best this life has to offer. They are so happy and are headed to Tulsa, OK, this week to start their new life together :) Again, feel free to check out our Shutterfly link on this blog page to see more photos.

Dance Season is Complete

Lindsey and Taylor had their spring dance recital last week which was outstanding! They did two dance numbers: a musical theatre dance to "Hard Knock Life" from the play "Annie" and a jazz/kick dance performance together with fellow 2nd and 3rd grade dancers. They really got into it and had a blast acting out the part of "disgruntled orphans" that love to dance. Very comical! They are so much fun to watch and you can tell they are having a great time which is what it's all about; love what you do and do what you love!

Happy Mother's Day!

You know you are going to have a good day when you wake up to 3 giggling children (make that 4 with their dad) jumping in bed with you armed with gifts and a tasty breakfast served on a tray. I was pleasantly awakened on Mother's Day to just that. A delicious, hot breakfast of eggs and coffee made by our thoughtful trio, a romantic card from my babe,  the sweetest hand-made cards, a lilly plant, fresh flowers, a flowering weed planted in a small vase painted with small, caring hands, a balloon and 6 large bars of Hershey's chocolate. In fact, Taylor had to comment, "We know how much you like chocolate, mom. We've seen you go crazy on it!" HA!!! Yes, indeed I have!

We had a full day starting with an uplifting service at church, brunch with Grandma & Papa Clark, Aunt Lisa and Uncle Ken, a visit to Aunt Kathy in the hospital (please lift up many prayers for a speedy recovery), Dylan's 3 x 3 basketball games, and topped off with an early evening of fishing on Prior Lake. It was perfect!

We are eternally grateful for our mothers/LTD's grandmothers. Mom, Liz, Donna......you mean the world to our family and we want you to know how much you are loved, appreciated and looked up to with so much respect. You have influenced and shaped our lives and encouraged us to follow Jesus and live a life filled with faith, hope and love. Thank you!!!
