Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NLT)

"A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. THREE are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken."

Tootsie!

On December 30, Camp Clark welcomed a new fur ball to our family. Introducing..Tootsie! She is a pure breed Bichon Frise who was born on November 4 and was named after my love of Tootsie Rolls (not my idea). The kids thought that was a perfect name for "being full of love and sweet" (in their words). So now we have this little 4 lb white cotton ball running around the house harassing Millie the Cat who simply ignores her as if she is a dust ball blowing across the floor. She is NOT potty trained, YET, and we are seriously working on that. Good news is she is hypoallergenic, has amazing temperament for kids and is only supposed to get to be 9-10 lbs.

The deal we made with the kids is that they are responsible for taking her outside every day, at least 3x daily (1x each) and helping feed and care for her. So far, so good. In fact, most days by the end of the day, she is exhausted from all the attention. She sleeps in her kennel right next to our bed and sleeps soundly through the night (unlike the first few nights in the laundry room). The fact is, she wants to be near us so having her at our bedside in her kennel works MUCH better for her and allows us to get some shuteye.

She is not much of a fan of the cold weather but thankfully she uses her kennel to "find her spot" (crate & grate method proposed by our breeder) when she can't get outside, and sometimes the hardwood floors! Thankfully, she spends the majority of her time on our main level which is mainly hardwood so accidents are not that big of a deal.......but it sure is testing our patience. We are hoping she catches on very soon :)

The kids adore her and even Dave (the Cat Whisperer) has taken a serious liking to her. We look forward to many years with our sweet puppy and all the memories we will make together.
